
The Associazione CLORI APS (Social Promotion Association) is established pursuant to the Italian Third Sector Code (Legislative Decree 117/2017, hereinafter referred to as CTS) and subsequent amendments, as well as the provisions of the Civil Code regarding associations. Its registered office is in Florence, Via delle Porte Nuove 33 (at the ARCI Club – Porta al Prato).
The Association is a Third Sector Entity (ETS) and a center of associative life that is autonomous, pluralistic, non-partisan, voluntary, democratic, and anti-fascist in nature, with unlimited duration; it is non-profit and thus it is not permitted to distribute profits or operating surpluses, even indirectly, nor funds and reserves of any kind to founders, members, workers and collaborators, administrators, or any other component of the corporate bodies, even in the event of withdrawal or any other hypothesis of individual dissolution of the associative relationship. Sharing its aims, it adheres to the national associative network “ARCI APS,” adopting its national membership card as its social card.
The Association’s main goal is to promote sociality, mutualism, participation, and the development of a sense of community, and to contribute to the cultural and civic growth of its members and of the broader community. The purposes of the Association include:
- promoting personal well-being and the recognition of the right to happiness;
- promoting culture, its expressive forms, creativity and creative attitudes, and spaces for expression, training, creation, production, and cultural fruition;
- recognizing cultural rights, promoting universal access to knowledge, education, culture, and the use of new communication technologies, and fostering digital inclusion (eInclusion);
- promoting cinematographic and audiovisual culture pursuant to Law 220/2016, through screenings, debates, lectures, courses, publications, and audience education initiatives, particularly aimed at young people and schools;
- promoting volunteerism as democratic participation in solidarity, cooperation, and citizenship activities;
- promoting and expanding spaces, opportunities, and recreational, social, sports, physical and motor activities with educational, didactic, recreational, and cultural aims, for individual and collective growth and the promotion of active lifestyles focused on movement and the improvement of life quality for members and all citizens;
- promoting lifelong educational and training activities, both informal and non-formal, also with a professional orientation;
- promoting rights and developing forms of prevention and combat against all forms of discomfort, exclusion, marginalization, discrimination, racism, xenophobia, homotransphobia, sexism, intolerance, violence, and censorship.
The Association pursues the aforementioned civic, solidarity-based, and socially useful objectives through the implementation in favor of its members, their families, or third parties, of the following general interest activities pursuant to Art. 5 of the CTS:
d) education, instruction and vocational training, pursuant to Law 53 of March 28, 2003, and subsequent amendments, as well as cultural activities of social interest with educational purposes, through the promotion of initiatives such as, by way of example but not limited to, courses and seminars aimed at expanding knowledge of historical, philological and literary culture, as well as spreading knowledge of digital tools at the service of the humanities and social sciences, in a Digital & Public Humanities perspective, presenting itself as a place of cultural encounter and aggregation, fulfilling the fundamental social function of human and civic maturation and growth and thus fully developing the ideal of lifelong education;
h) scientific research of particular social interest, through the promotion of initiatives such as, by way of example but not limited to, research and studies in the field of human and social sciences, with particular reference to themes of political, religious and cultural dissent in the Mediterranean world and the formation of a consciousness of rights and a culture of diversity and inclusion, including through the publication of historical, philological, and literary works in print and/or digital format;
i) organization and management of cultural, artistic or recreational activities of social interest, including editorial activities for the promotion and dissemination of culture and the practice of volunteerism, and of general interest activities referred to in Art. 5 CTS, through the promotion of initiatives such as, by way of example but not limited to, book publications and presentations, websites creation and management, exhibitions, video screenings, as well as conferences, lectures, debates, and seminars in person or online;
k) organization and management of social and cultural tourism activities through the promotion of initiatives such as, by way of example but not limited to, cultural tours and visits (including in virtual mode);
l) extracurricular education aimed at preventing school dropout and supporting academic and training success, preventing bullying and combating educational poverty through the promotion of initiatives such as, by way of example but not limited to, afterschool programs, Italian L2 courses, language courses, educational and formative meetings, seminars, either in person or online;
r) humanitarian reception and social integration of migrants through the promotion of initiatives such as, by way of example but not limited to, conferences, seminars, information and awareness campaigns, volunteer promotion, support and information activities, language courses, either in person or online;
v) promotion of a culture of legality, peace among peoples, nonviolence, and non-armed defense through the promotion of initiatives such as, by way of example but not limited to, lectures, conferences, book presentations, in person or online, cultural visits, exhibitions;
w) promotion and protection of human, civil, social, and political rights, as well as consumer and user rights regarding the general interest activities referred to in Art. 5 of the CTS, promotion of equal opportunities and mutual aid initiatives, including time banks referred to in Art. 27 of Law 53 of March 8, 2000, and solidarity purchasing groups referred to in Art. 1, paragraph 266, of Law 244 of December 24, 2007, through the promotion of initiatives such as, by way of example but not limited to, expert-led information activities, seminars, conferences, book presentations, in person or online, exhibitions, video promotions;
z) regeneration of unused public assets or property confiscated from organized crime through the promotion of initiatives such as, by way of example but not limited to, collaboration with public administration, conferences, cultural visits, and knowledge trips and stays.
In particular, the Association pursues these activities through the management of the editorial brand "Edizioni CLORI" (www.edizioniclori.it), and the websites “Ereticopedia” (www.ereticopedia.org) – whose two main components are the “Dictionary of heretics, dissenters and inquisitors in the Mediterranean world” (www.ereticopedia.org/d-index) and the journal “Quaderni eretici” (www.ereticopedia.org/rivista) –, “Storia della Campania” (www.storiadellacampania.it) and “Firenze nella Storia” (www.firenzenellastoria.it), and the YouTube channel “Parresia” (www.youtube.com/@parresiastoria), all initiatives directly related to the Association, whose expenses it covers and whose revenues support its activities. The Association also promotes the network “Cantiere Storico Filologico” (www.edizioniclori.it/network; www.cantierestoricofilologico.it).
In any case, all fields where cultural, recreational, and educational experiences occur and all fields where a civic struggle can take place against all forms of ignorance, intolerance, violence, censorship, injustice, discrimination, racism, marginalization, and forced loneliness, are potential areas of intervention for the Association.
In general, all activities compatible with Art. 5 of the CTS and subsequent amendments are potential areas of intervention for the Association.
